Questing & Leveling for English speaking players

Hello,

Some of you may know that mark, moxom and myself [steve] have started playing on the server and we're having fun. Considering the language barrier, the fact we don't speak a word of Russian, mark and myself have leveled quickly doing it the slow way.

I see that ThePW136 is trying to increase its international popularity by releasing an English client, applying a PayPal option to donation and English speak sections on the forum etc.

With that in mind, we have a couple of suggestions. From what we can see, there are a ridiculous number of high levels (90+) in the game. This extent has been met due to the sheer number of players doing "Master" / "Godless Valley" http://pwi-wiki.perfectworld.com/index.php/Gamma

This is a huge issue for players like us with a language barrier because it's an instance that requires effective and concise communication throughout. It also requires a lot of organising, again in the Russian language. For us, we have had to retire to questing, grinding and daily's because we simply cannot do this. This is a very slow way to level and puts us at a HUGE disadvantage. Consider this; on ThePW136 at level 78, quests on average award 40,000 exp (comparable to quests at level 40). You are required to earn over 3,000,000 exp in order to reach the level 79. This is incredibly hard to obtain with quests and grinding alone. When you also factor in Justice Orders, Wanted Tickets and Exp Scrolls, we're still looking at a very slight difference in the grand scheme of obtaining the 3,000,000 exp. I also find this strange because when you research the same quest on the internet, other official servers are awarding 140,000 exp per quest, not 40,000 exp per quest.

This doesn't encourage players to log on and play longer hours, when daily quests likely fuel the majority of the 3,000,000 exp alone. This only encourages players to log on, complete daily quests and log off.

If more international players come, they will have the same problem and it will likely result in lower yield of potential donations for the server, players going inactive past level 70 and a lack of growth in what seems to be a goal to make the server a more international environment.

A few recommendations would be:

*Increase rewards for quests
*Create incentives for players that don't spam Master/GV every day
*Add any relevant events to the English side of the forum, we can't see any of them right now, so it's not useful :(

Thanks very much for listening

-steve

Can I just cry on the sidewalk of the forum for your deadly hard trouble?
I wish I could speak for all of Russian side of ThePw and tell you few warm words, but I'm just a duck, willing to make the world happy place. So all I can do is make some noise around this topic or/and give myself as a priest or/and bridge above language wall in the master/Godless valley.
*Some happy quacks on the background*

Helpful...

This wasn't a topic to moan and cry about things being "unfair".

These are SUGGESTIONS to GM's if they're hoping to expand the server into a more international community. If certain groups of people are clearly out levelling others at such a high rate, then there is a clear disparity of advantage. Why would you not want questing to be a more encouraged route? It would benefit everyone and would be more fun than levelling by doing the same instance over and over.
